In this, the first of three volumes, we look at auctions after natural opening bids on the one level. Different kinds of conventional responses and continuations are described in detail. Also included are a chapter where we look briefly at many different kinds of bidding systems and a chapter about generalities with methods for hand evaluation, fits, rules and principles. for the more experienced players we have also included several variants of relay bids and some unusual artificial methods such as transfer responses. This book which was published in December 2001, contains 343 pages.
